Kolot - Voices of the Carmel Coast
Community-Based Social Tourism on the Carmel Coast
For thousands of years, this coastal plain has been a crossroads of cultures and civilizations – from prehistoric humans to Phoenicians, Canaanites, Israelits, Crusaders, and beyond. Today, it remains home to Jewish and Arab communities living side by side.

Voices of the Carmel Coast is a joint initiative of neighbors –
Jews and Arabs, religious and secular – from Furidis, Jisr a-Zarka, Ein Hud, and the Hof HaCarmel communities. Together, we share the story of our shared region.
Fifteen local social entrepreneurs have created unique tours that reveal personal, community, and social stories you won’t find elsewhere – reflecting the diversity and cultural richness of the Carmel Coast.
Our Vision:
We believe that a shared space is not only a geographical reality, but a daily choice.
The vision of Voices of the Carmel Coast is to develop a shared community-based tourism, where familiarity replaces suspicion, curiosity replaces stereotypes, and collaboration strengthens a vibrant local economy.
We base our initiative on values of equality, mutual respect, community responsibility, and sustainability.
Through personal stories, direct encounters, and shared action, we seek to show that shared life is not just a slogan—it is a reality that can be built, nurtured, and experienced.
Our Expiriences:
Who Are We
'Kolot - Voices of the Carmel Coast' grew out of years of joint work dedicated to advancing shared life between communities. The initiative was founded by Mabat association together with the Jewish–Arab regional partnership of the Carmel Coast, with the support of Keren Shutafut for Shared Society Initiatives, the U.S. Embassy Public Diplomacy, and the Ministry of Tourism’s tourism incubators.
